Client / Partner: Africa Code Week Initiative, Africa Science Week Initiative, TechQuest STEM Academy
Scope: 2,000+ secondary school students, 2-week synchronised activation, Nigeria, Pan-African
Our Role: In-Country Delivery Coordinator, school outreach, facilitator deployment, participant engagement
Africa Code Week and Africa Science Week are continent-wide initiatives that run synchronised country activations within the same two-week window across multiple African nations simultaneously. The constraint is the point: every country goes live at the same time, which means no flexibility on timelines, no room to delay mobilisation, and no margin for coordination failures at the school level.
TechQuest was engaged to lead Nigeria’s delivery, and Kelvin Umechukwu managed the full in-country operation. He identified and onboarded schools, briefed and deployed facilitators across multiple sites simultaneously, managed participant registration and engagement for over 2,000 secondary school students, and ensured Nigeria’s delivery aligned with the continental programme schedule and reporting requirements. The two activations ran back to back within the same two-week period, requiring rapid demobilisation and remobilisation between programmes without a break in quality.
What made this engagement instructive was its operational texture: many school sites running in parallel, a fixed and non-negotiable continental timeline, tight facilitator logistics, and a reporting obligation to a pan-African programme body. It is a model that informs how Consonance thinks about national-scale, time-bound programme delivery today.
